The site title actually came before the desire to make a shrine. I was watching Utena and found myself humming "Crusify" by Tori Amos. I got to the part where she sings "Got a cat name Easter. He says, "Will you never learn? You're just an empty cage girl if you kill the bird," and I thought, "That's Anthy! An Empty Cage." I decided to make a webpage to her. It was suppose to come before my Juri site, but things just got going on that site faster and EC got delayed.

I don't think Anthy is some "wittle Wubbie who neva woulda done anything wrong if it wasn't for her big bad brudder." I also don't think that Anthy is entirely without decent qualities. She certainly isn't a saint, but she is interesting.

It's been five years now since this site opened and, even though it isn't as complete as I would like, I still think it is a nice effort. Empty Cage is one of my most beautiful shrines, even if it isn't exactly to the level I want it to be at. I still want to keep this up and, hopefully, active.
